Tayo unveils its new graphic identity, updated for its 5th anniversary. To do it right, we needed a website that aligned with this new identity. Clotilde was in charge of coding this new site, tayo-software.com . She shares her perspective on the development process in this article.
Hello ! I'm Clotilde, a web developer and Growth Hacker at Tayo. For this website redesign project, I wore my developer hat.
It was a pleasure to develop this site. I’m sincere, and I’m not saying this to please the bosses ;). I had the superbes designs et maquettes réalisés par Lauriane, which I could refer to. It was ideal for knowing where to go and coding efficiently. Étienne also laid the groundwork for a quick deployment. Then everything moved really fast! It was just about getting started and laying the bricks to build a beautiful house, similar to the design. Of course, while keeping in mind the technical requirements of the web.
I was independent on this project, and I really appreciated the trust that was given to me. On the technical side, I also had the opportunity to propose a new framework I’d been wanting to experiment with for several months. It was a good fit here, so we decided to adopt it.
Any difficulties? Managing German words. Yes! I was ready, my eyes sparkled in front of this beautiful site… until our colleague Thomas from the German-speaking office implemented the German translations.
It was my oversight; I hadn’t anticipated the length of certain words in this language. Words that we don’t want to break just anywhere, but that we also don’t want overflowing in every direction. We had to manage all these cases and make sure they adapted properly to different screen types.
In short, the joys of multilingual websites and responsive design!
But other than that, the development went smoothly. And the more I progressed, the more it looked like the mockup, and the better it looked on the screen - notice my very objective opinion here. It was incredibly motivating!
It was also enjoyable because this site is out of the ordinary. It’s different from what we usually see in the software and real estate sectors. It features palm trees, the sun, mountains… These elements reflect Tayo’s philosophy: bringing serenity and relaxation, even to the most tedious tasks.
I suggest you explore the site yourself to form your own opinion.
And if there are any bugs, it’s me you should blame alert!
